Hot yoga, also known as Bikram yoga” is performed in a studio that’s heated to 105 degrees and has a humidity index of 40. Now why would anyone want to workout in a hot, humid room, you may ask?
The intense postures, along with the heat and humidity are meant to raise your heart rate and really tire out your muscles. The heat intensifies the workout, enhances flexibility and detoxes the body.
You should never attempt this kind of yoga if you have any heart or heat related illnesses. And ALWAYS drink plenty of water before, during and after.
